SO GOOD!! Great experience!!! Our waitress was so so good and even got the manager to serve my husband just crawfish (made his night - making mine!)

I had the shrimp and grits (yum!)

The food wasn't too bad.  It's worth eating but not at the prices they offer in my opinion.  The restaurant was very clean, staff was extremely friendly, and food was good enough.

Pros:  clean, great service,  generous portions, food arrived hot and cooked to order

Cons: honestly nothing special about the food,  price

We were looking for goodseafood. A couple at the B&B we were staying at, ate there the night before, recommended it. Food was delicious! We both got the "small" portion of large white shrimp, which was far from small! You can get it cooked several ways. He had his blacked, I had mine grilled, which has a delicious, lite glaze. It was served over a yummy bed of yellow rice, plus one side and 2 hush puppies. He & I both agreed, these were the best hush puppies either one of us have ever had! We both were too full for desert but their Key Lmie pie is homemade. It was a very casual setting but the food and service were top notch! Highly recommend!

We only had appetizers here, but what I experienced was all 5 stars! I was warned by multiple people that this restaurant isn't great, but we tried it anyway for a staff function. Every single server:bartender we came in contact with was friendly and helpful! They have a happy hour from 3-7 with great specials and nice pours of wine! Much better than most restaurants. My favorites were the fried shrimp and the CRAB BITES! I could have eaten 50. They were so good. A good time was had by all. Can't wait to come back!

So we were spending the weekend on Amelia Island, a little work and a little R & R. This is the R & R part. I read some reviews and thought " this sounds like a nice restaurant ", so let's try it for dinner.

Someone I met suggested a different restaurant but when I mentioned The Crab Trap, I'm pretty sure he rolled his eyes, but said nothing. Maybe I should have taken his recommendation.

Let's talk about this. First it's an old building which gets points from me. Then we walked in.

A very pleasant young man is our waiter. He seats us and explained that he is very new here.

Although it's called " Crab Trap", tonight they don't have blue crabs. There were a couple of other things they didn't have but I don't remember them. Goes to how memorable the meal was.

I ordered their seafood casserole, and my wife had one of their specials, 1.5 lbs of King Crab.

Let's me stop here and state for the record "Specials " are usual, no most of the time a scam and rip off in restaurants, and this was no exception. 99% of the time a waiter will tell you the specials but never tell you how much they are. I've learned this lesson too many times.

So my wife's " King Crab" $53 , that's right $53. That's $35 lb., do the math. Just look up " Specials " in the restauranteurs guide book. "specials" = Home Run, looks like we got a sucker here, rip these people off, etc.

Overall the food was average at best, except the butter, or what ever it was for the king crabs. It was just off.

But now for the entertainment. Remember the young man who was our waiter? Well there was one other server, a woman. While we were eating, our waiter was clearing another table and this lady waitress walks by him, says something to him, then slaps him on the butt. Looked like classic sexual harassment to me.

This young man is just doing his job, maybe working his way through school or just try to make ends meet and he has to tolerate this to keep his job. I felt so bad for him, no one male or female should ever have to endure sexual harassment to keep a job.

Well there are many many restaurants on Amelia Island. We plan to be back in the winter, but I'll be trying some of the other restaurants, probably the one that was suggested. Three stars, but should have been 2.5 Stars
